Principal Scientist – Bioinformatics (Translational Medicine)

About the role

Nkarta is seeking a highly motivated Principal Scientist to lead bioinformatics efforts within its Translational Medicine team. This senior, hands‑on position focuses on leveraging single‑cell and spatial omics to drive biomarker discovery, mechanism‑of‑action studies, and clinical decision‑making for its off‑the‑shelf NK cell therapies.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute computational strategies for clinical and biological datasets to inform go/no‑go decisions.
• Develop and apply methods for single‑cell and spatial transcriptomics, generating actionable translational insights.
• Build scalable pipelines for multi‑modal data integration across programs.
• Integrate functional genomics data (e.g., bulk RNA‑seq) to uncover mechanistic insights.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Translational Medicine, biology, and clinical teams.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
• Proven track record leading bioinformatics projects in biotech or pharmaceutical settings.
• Deep expertise in single‑cell and spatial omics technologies.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate complex data into clear biological conclusions.
