Principal, Sales and Use Tax Consulting - Western U.S.

About the role

Ryan is seeking a Principal for its Sales and Use Tax Consulting practice in the western U.S., with no location preference: any major city works. The Principal develops, implements and executes tax services for the practice, and the title is similar to an equity partner in public accounting. Candidates at Managing Director or Director level ready for promotion are considered.

Key responsibilities

• Work within the practice to develop new tax planning ideas for global clients.
• Supervise consulting work delegated to staff and managers.
• Serve as subject matter expert for the practice across the firm and assigned jurisdictions.
• Assist in the general operation and administration of the practice.
• Develop new client relationships and help expand the practice to other markets with the global management team.
• Make routine presentations to prospects and clients.
• Develop and execute tax consulting projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum of ten to twelve years of experience in the practice specialization.
• Proven track record of excellent service delivery and experience working in a team.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and internet research.
• Valid driver's license; occasional long periods of sitting at a computer; independent travel of 30 to 50%; 50+ hour standard workweek.
