Principal Electrical Engineer – Power System Modeling

About the role

ETAP is seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead the design, modeling, and analysis of electric power systems, machines, and power electronics. The role combines deep technical expertise with software development to enhance ETAP's digital twin platform for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design, write specifications, and prototype power system modeling tools.
• Lead development within the ETAP software environment, focusing on C++ based simulation.
• Support marketing initiatives, workshops, and provide technical assistance to customers.
• Supervise and lead engineering service projects for diverse clients.

Required profile

• Professional Electrical Engineer license.
• 5–10 years of experience in power system modeling and analysis.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and self‑management skills.
• MS or PhD in Power System Engineering or Electrical Engineering; MS in Computer Science is a plus.

Required skills

• C++ (Microsoft Visual C++ preferred).
• Power system simulation software development.
• Modeling and analysis of power system studies, electrical machines, and power electronics.
• Familiarity with industrial standards and specification writing.
