Primary Care Physician – Shreveport, LA

About the role

UnitedHealthcare’s Primary Care Plus (PCPlus) network is seeking board‑certified or board‑eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physicians to join a value‑based care team in Shreveport, Louisiana. You will deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective primary care in a collaborative, physician‑led environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient‑centered care to 10‑16 patients per day with 30‑60 minute appointments.
• Work alongside APRNs, RNs, and a Quality Improvement team to coordinate care.
• Participate in transitional care and high‑risk outreach programs.
• Maintain quality metrics, diagnostic accuracy, and low hospitalization rates.
• Enjoy a 4.5‑day work week with no overnight call and early Friday departures.

Required profile

• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Louisiana medical license.
• Valid DEA and CDS licenses (or ability to obtain).
• Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• 1+ years of clinical experience in adult, family, or geriatric care preferred.

Required skills

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
