Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician

About the role

HFO Chicago, a division of Morris Group, Inc. and the exclusive distributor of Haas CNC machine tools and rotary products in Northern Illinois and Indiana, is looking for a Field Service Maintenance Technician. The role reports directly to the Service Manager and involves travelling to customer sites to install and perform preventative maintenance inspections on machine tool equipment. A company vehicle is provided and gas expenses are paid by the company.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install and carry out preventative maintenance inspections on machine tool equipment
• Use online technical documents, how-to videos and checklists to guide all maintenance procedures
• Complete and submit accurate documentation of services to the office and customers
• Receive training in maintenance procedures during on-boarding; prior CNC experience is a plus but not required
• Perform other related duties as required

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability in mechanical or electrical repair and/or maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret procedures and how-to guides
• Excellent communication skills and reliability
• Able to lift 40-50 pounds regularly and meet the physical demands of the job
• Flexible hours and frequent travel and driving across a regional territory, dispatched daily from home

Required skills

• General mechanical and electrical understanding of CNC equipment
• Software experience such as Microsoft Office is a plus; a laptop, smartphone and various software applications are used
