Prep Cook – Seasonal, Part-Time

About the role

Legends Global is hiring a Prep Cook for its Concessions-Culinary department at PNC Field, the 10,000-seat baseball stadium in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre that hosts baseball games and other events. The role reports to the Executive Chef, is seasonal and part-time, and is paid hourly (non-exempt).

Key responsibilities

• Report on time for scheduled events and to the assigned area, and follow prep lists and daily timelines given by the supervisor.
• Carry out opening and closing duties and complete checkout with the manager or supervisor.
• Prepare food using correct recipes, keeping walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage and work areas clean and sanitary.
• Know the menus and specials, the kitchen layout and the location of first aid, bathrooms and stairs, and direct staff and guests accordingly.
• Work with supervisors, attendants, runners, chefs and other service departments, and stay alert to other food and beverage outlets in the venue.
• Be able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; a culinary arts degree or certificate is preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, caterer or other food service area.
• Punctual, dependable, organized and able to prioritize, work under pressure and adapt to change.
• Able to read and retain recipes, prep lists, menus and signage, and to speak and read basic English.
• Physical ability to stand, kneel, lift and push up to 50 pounds, move heavy carts, walk long distances and work in hot and cold environments.
