Pre-Stressed Concrete Inspector – Remote (US)

About the role

The Pre‑Stressed Concrete Inspector will oversee quality assurance at fabrication facilities for Bureau Veritas clients, typically state Departments of Transportation or construction contractors. This remote position requires strong technical knowledge of precast/prestressed concrete and the ability to manage client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with Project Managers, fabrication shops and contractors to define scope, schedule, deliverables and budget for each assignment.
• Generate and process timesheets, billing and inspection reports promptly, using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat, and transmit them electronically.
• Maintain positive relationships between Bureau Veritas, the fabrication facility and the client, ensuring services meet contract requirements.
• Interpret complex design, fabrication plans and specifications, and communicate technical issues clearly to all stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum three years in concrete construction, including at least one year in precast or prestressed concrete.
• ACI Level I Field Technician Certification and PCI Level II Certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings and prepare written and electronic reports.

Required skills

• Expertise in precast/prestressed concrete inspection.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Lotus Notes (preferred).
• Experience with digital photography and transferring images into reports.
• Strong computer literacy and use of modern communication equipment.
