Practice Manager

About the role

The Practice Manager provides administrative direction and coordination for a single‑specialty medical practice at the University of Miami. This role oversees day‑to‑day operations, ensures compliance with university policies, and serves as a liaison for patients, physicians, and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise administrative and clinical functions to ensure effective patient services.
• Maintain liaison with administrators, physicians, and external organizations.
• Prepare operational and financial reports, analyze trends, and make recommendations.
• Develop and enforce operating policies in line with university procedures.
• Conduct meetings with staff to ensure compliance with established practices.
• Implement new policies and keep employees informed of changes.
• Review facility usage to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Stay current on medical technology, health‑insurance trends, and government regulations.
• Conduct utilization reviews of clinical services and track performance against goals.
• Oversee internal controls, employee training, and compliance with university policies.
• Assist with worker’s compensation information, faculty/staff meetings, new‑hire processes, and Workday approvals.
• Manage provider schedules, approvals, promotions, terminations, and operational orders for IT and facilities.

Required profile

• Strong administrative and supervisory experience in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Ability to develop policies, analyze financial data, and improve operational efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with physicians, staff, and external partners.
• Knowledge of university policies, health‑insurance trends, and relevant regulations.

• Competitive salary range of $60,000 – $75,000, commensurate with experience.
