About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Practical Nursing Instructor to join its College of Nursing in Augusta. The instructor will lead classroom and laboratory sessions, ensuring students acquire the competencies required for entry‑level nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Teach courses in the Practical Nursing program according to the schedule.
• Develop and update instructional resources, including outlines, lesson plans, handouts, and evaluation tools.
• Create and maintain detailed syllabi covering competencies, learning outcomes, required texts, tools, and grading procedures.
• Maintain a safe, well‑organized laboratory environment, manage equipment, and enforce safety protocols.
• Prepare lab sessions by selecting appropriate learning experiences and utilizing instructional technology.
• Keep course content current and aligned with learning outcomes.
• Provide information on institutional services, degree programs, financial aid, library, and bookstore resources.
• Stay informed on industry trends and maintain relationships with local and state professional associations.
• Submit required paperwork, reports, inventories, and student evaluations on time.
• Identify and participate in staff development activities based on performance feedback and industry changes.

Required profile

• Knowledge of institutional policies, degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
• Familiarity with job placement processes, financial aid, library, and bookstore operations.
• Understanding of current trends in nursing education and the healthcare industry.
