Power System Engineer

About the role

ETAP is looking for a motivated Power System Engineer to join its Control Division. The role focuses on supporting software development and consulting services for data‑center interconnection studies, ensuring that ETAP’s simulation tools meet grid‑code and interconnection requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed engineering and hand calculations based on power system analysis principles to validate software accuracy.
• Develop and execute test cases for data‑center interconnection scenarios, adhering to ETAP QA standards.
• Model and simulate data‑center power systems using engineering application software.
• Interpret industry interconnection standards and apply them to enhance simulation capabilities.
• Provide technical consulting and support to clients via email and phone.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Power System Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 0–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Intermediate knowledge of Power Flow, Short‑Circuit, Protection & Coordination, and Dynamics.
• Ability to perform hand calculations to verify software results.
• Experience with ETAP or similar power system simulation tools.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel, Python or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with IEEE 2800, IEEE 1547 and PRC‑029 interconnection standards.
