Power Markets Origination Manager

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Power Markets Origination Manager to join its Power Marketing team. The role will develop market opportunities, manage customer and counter‑party relationships, and coordinate commercial negotiations for energy, capacity, RECs and other products across the U.S. and Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Lead origination activities in U.S. and Canadian power markets, identifying opportunities and engaging customers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale market participants, C&I customers, consultants and other counterparties.
• Act as primary commercial contact for PPA counterparties, coordinating with Operations, Legal, Risk, Trading and other internal teams.
• Identify and develop physical and financial offtake opportunities, including energy, capacity, RECs, hedge products and structured deals.
• Explore non‑traditional offtake options such as behind‑the‑meter structures and co‑location opportunities.
• Lead RFP, tender and bilateral commercial processes, managing bid strategy, internal approvals and timelines.
• Coordinate commercial terms and transaction agreements with Legal and relevant stakeholders.
• Support market intelligence efforts, providing pricing benchmarks, comparable deal terms and market condition updates.
• Contribute to cross‑functional initiatives related to new products, market expansion and portfolio optimisation.

Required profile

• 7–10 years of experience in power origination, power marketing, structured energy products or related commercial energy roles.
• Proven track record of originating, structuring, negotiating and executing energy transactions such as PPAs, hedges and structured deals.
• Strong understanding of U.S. and Canadian power markets, capacity markets and renewable energy certificates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Trading, Commercial, Operations, Legal and Risk teams.
