Postdoctoral Research Associate in Crop Modeling and Remote Sensing

About the role

Texas A&M Agrilife Research in Temple is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join a multidisciplinary team focused on crop growth, yield, water use, and carbon‑nitrogen cycling modeling. The postdoctoral associate will apply remote sensing and geospatial technologies to advance agricultural research.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage field experiments, including ground‑truth data collection.
• Operate, test, validate, and refine crop models to improve prediction accuracy.
• Develop and apply machine‑learning and AI approaches for crop management and decision‑support systems.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals and contribute to competitive grant proposals.
• Present research findings at scientific meetings.

Required profile

• PhD in Agronomy, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• Strong background in agricultural remote sensing.
• Ability to multi‑task and work cooperatively with others.

Required skills

• Proficiency with remotely sensed geospatial datasets.
• Programming in R or Python.
• Experience with crop modeling and machine‑learning techniques.
