Postdoctoral Research Associate – Hazardous Weather Mobility

About the role

The successful candidate will join Texas A&M AgriLife Research to advance a research program that integrates cell‑phone mobility data with survey responses, aiming to improve understanding of decision‑making during hazardous weather events. The position offers opportunities for academic publishing and collaboration on externally funded projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct empirical research on population responses to hazardous weather using mobility data.
• Clean, manage, and analyze large mobility datasets with Python and modern econometric/computational tools.
• Contribute to the development of manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Assist with grant proposal preparation and related research activities.
• Collaborate with other researchers, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students, providing occasional guidance on data and methods.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Economics, Agricultural Economics, or a closely related field.
• Research experience in environmental or resource economics is preferred.
• Proficiency in Python and R.
• Experience working with large and spatial datasets.
• Experience designing, implementing, or analyzing surveys.
• Interest in policy‑relevant research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
