Postdoctoral Fellow – Machine Learning & Computer Vision

About the role

The Postdoctoral Fellow will join a highly active research group at the University of Arkansas, focusing on the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, multimodal AI, healthcare, and robotics. The role involves conducting cutting‑edge research, publishing results, and contributing to the growth of the laboratory.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to multiple research projects spanning ML, CV, multimodal AI, healthcare, and robotics.
• Assist in managing the research lab, coordinating ongoing projects, and ensuring smooth operations.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, providing technical guidance and supervision.
• Participate in writing and submitting research grant proposals to secure future funding.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field, completed by the start date.
• Strong research background in machine learning, computer vision, and/or robotics with a solid publication record in top‑tier conferences or journals.
• Demonstrated programming expertise and hands‑on experience with research‑oriented software development.
• Ability to independently formulate research problems, design experiments, and produce high‑quality publications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to regular, reliable attendance.
