Postdoctoral Fellow – Cardiovascular Research

About the role

The Department of Pharmacology at UAMS seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to advance innovative cardiovascular research. The fellow will lead laboratory operations, mentor junior researchers, and develop an independent funding portfolio within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform animal handling, basic procedures, and genotyping.
• Conduct standard molecular biology techniques, cell culture, Western blotting, PCR, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy.
• Support general laboratory operations, maintenance, and compliance with university, state, and federal regulations.
• Supervise and train students and laboratory staff in basic techniques.
• Develop independent research projects and pursue external funding in collaboration with the cardiovascular team.

Required profile

• PhD in Bioscience or a related field.
• Experience with animal studies, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques.
