Postdoctoral Extension Associate

About the role

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service seeks a Postdoctoral Extension Associate to lead applied economic and financial research on U.S. beef production, focusing on cow‑calf and stocker enterprises. The role blends scholarly output with high‑impact extension activities, helping modernize the Beef Cattle Standardized Performance Analysis (SPA) platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct and publish research on economic and financial analysis of livestock and agricultural production.
• Develop, improve, and maintain the Beef Cattle SPA platform.
• Deliver extension services, including workshops, producer briefs, and decision‑support tools.
• Analyze large datasets, manage data pipelines, and maintain organized data repositories.
• Collaborate on grant proposals and secure research funding.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Animal Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated record of peer‑reviewed research (published, accepted, or strong working papers).
• Experience with U.S. cattle production systems and extension programs.
• Strong quantitative background and ability to work independently and within a team.
