Postdoctoral Associate – Stem Cell Research

About the role

The Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Associate to conduct cutting‑edge research in cardiac biology, heart failure, and regenerative therapies. You will work on‑site in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute independent research projects related to cardiovascular biology and cell‑based therapies.
• Perform molecular and cellular assays, including work with iPSC‑derived cardiomyocytes and cardiac organoids.
• Analyze complex datasets, develop analytical models, and maintain rigorous experimental documentation.
• Prepare manuscripts, abstracts, and grant applications in collaboration with the principal investigator.
• Present findings at lab meetings, institutional seminars, and national/international conferences.
• Mentor graduate students, technicians, and other trainees.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in cardiovascular science, physiology, biomedical sciences, or a related field.
• Strong background in cardiovascular biology, molecular biology, or translational research.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research and publish peer‑reviewed manuscripts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to solve complex problems and exercise sound judgment.
