Postdoctoral Associate – PQ6 Project (Microbiology & Immunology)

About the role

The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine seeks two Postdoctoral Associates to join Dr. Noula Shembade’s laboratory. The research focuses on the interplay between KSHV and HIV in the development of HIV/AIDS‑related Kaposi’s sarcoma, using advanced cell culture and animal model techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on KSHV/HIV interactions and Kaposi’s sarcoma.
• Perform cell and tissue culture, EcoHIV work, and manage immunodeficient and immunocompetent animal studies.
• Prepare research reports, technical papers, and contribute to scientific publications.
• Develop and apply analytical models to support strategic decisions.
• Maintain compliance with university policies and safeguard assets.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in molecular/cellular biology, virology, immunology, or a related field.
• Strong background in signal transduction, innate immunity, and cancer animal models.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a laboratory setting.
