Postdoctoral Associate – Orthopedics Research

About the role

The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Associate to advance research on molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammation, fibrosis, and pain in osteoarthritis. The role involves stem‑cell‑based studies, exosome investigations, and animal model experiments.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments investigating inflammation, fibrosis, and pain pathways in osteoarthritis.
• Perform stem‑cell‑based and exosome‑focused research, including isolation, characterization, and functional assays.
• Conduct osteoarthritis animal model studies, including surgical procedures and outcome assessments.
• Collect, analyze, and manage experimental data; maintain accurate databases and records.
• Prepare research reports, technical papers, and presentations for seminars and conferences.
• Conduct literature searches, synthesize findings, and advise the research team on potential projects.
• Ensure compliance with good research practice, university policies, and ethical guidelines.
• Contribute to extramural grant proposals, publications, and scientific presentations.

Required profile

• MD or Ph.D. in a relevant biomedical or life‑science discipline.
• Demonstrated experience with stem‑cell and exosome research techniques.
• Proven ability to work with osteoarthritis animal models.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with data management.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating under the direction of a principal investigator.
