Postdoctoral Associate in Biochemistry (Nanoparticle Cancer Research)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a motivated Postdoctoral Associate to advance biochemistry research focused on designing and testing nanoparticle platforms for prostate cancer therapy. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to cutting‑edge projects that integrate chemistry, biology, and engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and functionalize nanoparticles targeting prostate cancer models.
• Conduct in‑vitro experiments using patient‑derived biopsies, cell culture, cytotoxicity assays, and uptake studies.
• Perform in‑vivo evaluations of biodistribution, efficacy, and safety in animal models.
• Analyze data using flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, MRI/PET imaging, and bioinformatics tools.
• Prepare research reports, manuscripts, grant proposals, and conference presentations.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in laboratory techniques.
• Ensure compliance with university and agency policies on animal welfare, safety, and security.

Required profile

• PhD in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with emphasis on cancer biology or drug delivery.
• Strong background in nanoparticle synthesis and biomedical applications.
• Experience with cell culture, molecular biology, and animal research preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
