About the role

The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at the University of Miami seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Associate to lead cutting‑edge research in human proteomics, genomics, and drug‑delivery platforms. The role combines wet‑lab experimentation with advanced computational analysis to generate translational insights.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute high‑quality experiments in biochemical and cell‑based systems.
• Develop and apply R‑based statistical and bioinformatic pipelines for multi‑omics data.
• Lead formulation, material selection, 3D printing, and fabrication of drug‑loaded constructs and implantable device prototypes.
• Perform in‑vitro characterization, including physicochemical property assessment, drug loading, release kinetics, and stability testing.
• Plan preclinical studies, interpret data, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate concepts into validated prototypes.
• Prepare research reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals; mentor students and trainees.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, or a related field.
• Strong foundation in biostatistics and experience with R for data analysis.
• Proven expertise in proteomics, genomics, and bioinformatics.
• Hands‑on experience with polymeric materials, drug‑delivery systems, and implantable devices.
• Demonstrated ability to write scientific publications and secure grant funding.
