Porter/Dishwasher – In‑School, No Nights/Weekends (Washington, DC)

About the role

Red Rabbit is seeking reliable Porter/Dishwasher team members to support its school‑based kitchen operations in Washington, DC. This in‑school, full‑time role works mornings only, with no night or weekend shifts, and focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean countertops, cooking equipment, walk‑in refrigerators, floors, sinks, dishes, and storage areas to exceed Department of Health standards.
• Remove trash, cardboard, and compost promptly to keep the kitchen ready for food preparation.
• Assist with scratch‑made dish preparation and timely food service according to production sheets.
• Set up the kitchen each day to ensure the team can produce meals efficiently.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commissary kitchen.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lb and stand for long periods.
• Reliable, team‑oriented, and able to work calmly in a fast‑moving environment.
• Positive attitude with attention to detail; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
