Porter/Dishwasher – Full‑time, No Nights/Weekends

About the role

Red Rabbit is seeking reliable Porter/Dishwasher team members to support its school‑based kitchen operations in Washington, DC. This full‑time, in‑school position runs weekdays only, with no night or weekend shifts, allowing you to focus on maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean all kitchen areas—including countertops, equipment, walk‑in refrigerators, floors, sinks, dishes, and storage—to exceed Department of Health standards.
• Remove trash, cardboard, and compost promptly, keeping the preparation space free of debris.
• Assist in setting up the kitchen for daily meal production, ensuring all tools and stations are ready.
• Follow production sheets, help with scratch‑made dishes, and serve food on a tight schedule.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commissary kitchen.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lb, and stand for long periods.
• Reliable, team‑oriented, and able to work calmly in a fast‑moving environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
