Porter – In School (No Nights/Weekends)

About the role

Red Rabbit is seeking an in‑school Porter to support its kitchen operations during regular school days. This full‑time, onsite position works Monday‑Friday, 6 am‑3 pm, and does not require night or weekend shifts. The role is ideal for candidates with a "can‑do" attitude and experience in high‑volume food environments.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all kitchen areas—including countertops, equipment, walk‑in refrigerators, floors, sinks, dishes, and storage—to exceed Department of Health (DOH) standards.
• Remove trash, cardboard, and compost promptly to maintain a safe, debris‑free workspace.
• Set up the kitchen team for daily meal production, ensuring all tools and stations are ready.
• Assist with basic food preparation and serving according to production sheets and tight schedules.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant, hotel, or commissary kitchen.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb, stand for long periods, and move throughout the kitchen.
• Reliable, team‑oriented, and able to work calmly in a fast‑moving environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
