Policy Typist

About the role

Old Republic Title is seeking an experienced Policy Typist to join its remote team. The role involves reviewing, typing, and finalizing lender, owner, and other title policies while ensuring accuracy and compliance with client service level agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Review closing documents and commitments for completeness and accuracy.
• Type and/or review all final, replacement, and servicing title policies.
• Manage work queues to meet delivery timelines.
• Monitor files for lien‑clearance completeness and receipt of funds before issuing policies.
• Handle internal customer inquiries promptly via email.
• Resolve problem files or escalate to management/risk as needed.
• Run and interpret various client reports to keep order flow moving.
• Consistently meet or exceed production goals.
• Communicate courteously with coworkers, management, clients, and vendors.
• Maintain regular attendance and accept supervision.
• Work overtime when approved by a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Proven policy typist experience in Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Michigan.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and handle detail‑oriented work.
• Regular, reliable attendance and a professional demeanor.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
• Working knowledge of title information, easements, leases, legal descriptions, vesting issues, and legal terminology.
