Policy and Research Analyst III

About the role

The Governor’s Office of Education and Workforce Strategy (GOEWS) is seeking a Policy and Research Analyst III to turn complex data and legal frameworks into clear, actionable policy narratives that support education outcomes across Georgia.

Key responsibilities

• Translate research questions, data outputs, tables, and charts into memos, reports, and briefings that present evidence‑based policy arguments.
• Interpret Georgia education statutes, State Board of Education rules, legislative bills, and inter‑agency agreements to provide the legal context for analytical findings.
• Critically review quantitative results produced by the team, identify methodological issues, and ensure the narrative accurately reflects what the data shows.
• Collaborate with quantitative analysts and stakeholders to align data storytelling with policy goals.

Required profile

• Strong ability to read and synthesize data and legal documents.
• Excellent written communication skills with attention to precision and clarity.
• Capacity to work on‑site at least two days per week in Atlanta, GA.
• Experience in policy research, education data analysis, or related public‑sector work.
