Poison Control Specialist – Clinical Support

About the role

The Poison Control Specialist provides timely clinical information and recommendations to healthcare providers and the public regarding toxic exposures. This role supports medication safety and public health within the designated region.

Key responsibilities

• Provide information and treatment advice to callers about toxic or potentially toxic exposures.
• Create and update electronic medical records for each inquiry.
• Deliver educational information on toxic substances and drugs to callers.
• Assist in the education and instruction of professional students and residents.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Strong reading, writing, and computer skills.
• Preferred: Emergency Department or critical care nursing experience; new RN graduates with prior LPN experience in emergency or critical care are also considered.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
• Effective communication skills for delivering clinical information.
