Plasma Operator

About the role

The Plasma Operator works in a manufacturing environment to set up and run plasma cutting machines that shape metal workpieces. This position ensures that material is prepared, machines are correctly configured, and cutting programs match work orders.

Key responsibilities

• Locate and deliver the correct material to the work center.
• Verify machine readiness, including level plasma heads, coolant levels, and consumable condition.
• Load and confirm the nesting program matches the printed work order.
• Select and apply the proper gas, speed, and consumables for each job.
• Monitor equipment for flaws and perform routine adjustments.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret technical prints and measuring devices.
• Capability to work with minimal supervision and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and willingness to cross‑train in other shop areas.
• Commitment to safety and punctual attendance.
