Planning Program Coordinator – Community Development

About the role

The Georgia Department of Community Affairs is seeking a Planning Program Coordinator to support its Community Development Team in Atlanta. You will help implement statewide planning programs, educational outreach, and research initiatives that strengthen local and regional communities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver the PlanFirst program and related educational offerings.
• Coordinate community planning success stories and outreach activities.
• Administer the Government Management Indicators Survey (GOMI) and other data‑driven initiatives.
• Oversee service‑delivery strategies, development impact fee programs, and municipal annexation actions.
• Collaborate with city and county governments, regional commissions, and partner organizations to ensure compliance with state planning requirements.
• Provide technical support and guidance on comprehensive planning, service delivery, and program evaluation.
