PIR Caseworker – Refugee Resettlement Services

About the role

The International Rescue Committee seeks a solutions‑driven PIR Caseworker to provide trauma‑informed services to refugees and qualified immigrants, helping them achieve self‑sufficiency and a positive resettlement experience.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate pre‑ and post‑arrival services, including airport pick‑up, housing, food, medical care, transportation and orientation.
• Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized self‑sufficiency plans with SMART goals, and deliver direct financial assistance, public benefits applications, and referrals.
• Monitor client progress, document interactions in the ETO system, and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Collaborate with coworkers, partner organizations, and local service providers; transport clients using a personal insured vehicle or public transit.
• Train and supervise volunteers and interns as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in human services, preferably with refugee or immigrant populations.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal insured vehicle.

Required skills

• Proficiency with database systems such as IRIS and Efforts to Outcomes (ETO).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Fluency in English; additional languages (Dari, Farsi, Pashto) are a plus.
