Physician – Primary Care & Homelessness Consult at MGH

About the role

Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program (BHCHP) is seeking a dedicated physician to join its Massachusetts General Hospital‑based clinic. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality primary care and homelessness‑specific inpatient consults to individuals experiencing homelessness, ensuring compassionate, patient‑centered treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary and episodic care to patients at the BHCHP clinic within MGH.
• Conduct inpatient and emergency department consults, creating homelessness‑specific care plans and coordinating post‑discharge follow‑up.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including nurses, physician assistants, and social workers—to integrate medical, substance‑use, and mental‑health services.
• Document patient encounters and adhere to BHCHP clinical and administrative guidelines.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor (MD) or DO with board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related primary‑care specialty.
• Strong commitment to serving individuals experiencing homelessness with dignity and respect.
• Availability to work up to 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, onsite at the clinic.
