Physician - Hematology Oncology Section Head

About the role

The Ochsner Cancer Institute is seeking a Board‑certified Hematology/Oncology physician to lead its Hematology Oncology Section in Baton Rouge. This senior position provides strategic direction, oversees multidisciplinary care, and expands clinical research initiatives across the health system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction and coordination of oncology care for the section.
• Collaborate with Cancer Service Line and system leadership to expand clinical research and cancer‑care programs.
• Lead a multidisciplinary care team of physicians, advanced practice providers, and support staff.

Required profile

• Board‑certified Hematologist/Oncologist.
• Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary clinical teams and driving research initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the EPIC electronic medical record platform.
• Experience with advanced imaging modalities such as PET/CT/MR.
