Physician – Gastroenterology Advanced Endoscopy

About the role

Ochsner Health Baton Rouge seeks a Board Certified or Board‑eligible Gastroenterologist with advanced endoscopy training to join a growing, clinic‑based gastroenterology department.

Key responsibilities

• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures in a state‑of‑the‑art lab equipped with EUS, impedance, pH and manometry capabilities.
• Maintain a dedicated clinic schedule with specific endoscopy days.
• Collaborate with Advanced Practice Professionals for consults, follow‑up appointments and patient overflow.
• Participate in a weekly call rotation (1:5) shared among physicians, with 24/7 hospitalist support.
• Leverage an integrated practice model and strong internal referral network.

Required profile

• Board Certified or Board‑eligible Gastroenterologist.
• Formal training in advanced endoscopy techniques.
• Willingness to engage in call rotation and collaborative care within a multi‑specialty system.

Required skills

• Expertise with Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) equipment.
• Proficiency in impedance testing, pH monitoring and esophageal manometry.
• Experience using the EPIC electronic medical record platform.
• Advanced endoscopy procedural skills.
