Physical Therapist – Temporary/Part‑Time

About the role

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami is seeking temporary, part‑time Physical Therapists to provide therapy and wellness services to patients in Miami, FL. You will help restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent permanent disabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new patients, set goals, and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions daily.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home‑care activities.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to obtain information and suggest treatment revisions.
• Use treatment tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedule as needed for clinic demands.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement initiatives.
• Orient, instruct, and supervise assistants and support personnel.
• Develop and adapt learning programs using appropriate methods and materials.
• Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and related computer applications.
• Competence in operating physical therapy treatment tools and equipment.
