Physical Therapist II – Full‑time

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist II to deliver evidence‑based rehabilitation services. The role involves direct patient care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and supervision of support staff and students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new patients, set goals, and develop treatment plans.
• Deliver and progress therapeutic interventions within each patient’s capabilities.
• Document all evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions accurately.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and home programs.
• Communicate with physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other team members.
• Participate in quality‑and‑safety improvement initiatives.
• Orient, instruct, and supervise therapy assistants and support personnel.
• Teach and mentor physical therapy students according to professional guidelines.
• Represent the department at conferences and community education events.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or related field.
• Current Florida license as a Physical Therapist.
• Minimum three years of relevant clinical experience.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality, university core values, and collaborative practice.
