Physical Therapist Assistant (PRN) – Outpatient Therapy

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join its Outpatient Therapy Clinical team in Northwest, AR. The PTA will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct patient care to individuals of all ages and monitoring their progress in a collaborative, patient‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with the supervising physical therapist to implement therapeutic plans, delivering daily mobility and balance treatments.
• Prepare, operate, and sanitize physical therapy equipment according to safety protocols.
• Document daily treatments and observations in patient progress notes and compile monthly performance summaries for review by the physical therapist.

Required profile

• Associate Degree in Applied Science in Physical Therapy.
• At least one year of PTA experience or recent graduate with outpatient clinical experience.
• Licensed by the Arkansas State Medical Board as a PTA, or eligible to obtain licensure within 30 days of hire.
• Strong communication skills and excellent hand‑eye coordination with high attention to detail.
• Preferred: background in neurologic disorder treatment, LSVT or PWR certification, and two years of PTA experience.
