Physical Therapist Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a full‑time Physical Therapist Assistant to support patient rehabilitation in Miami. The role focuses on assisting patients with injuries or diseases to restore function, improve mobility, and reduce pain.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with evaluation of new patients, goal setting, and development of treatment plans.
• Document evaluations, treatments, and patient interactions accurately.
• Provide patients and families with information on conditions and home‑care instructions.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to obtain information and suggest treatment revisions.
• Use treatment tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain productivity and adjust schedule as needed for clinic demands.
• Participate in quality and safety improvement activities.
• Protect patient confidentiality in accordance with regulations.

Required profile

• Associate degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Valid State of Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Valid Florida Physical Therapy Assistant license.
