About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy is seeking a part‑time Physical Therapist 4 to provide effective rehabilitation services in Kendall, FL. The role involves direct patient care, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and the opportunity to mentor and supervise junior therapists and students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, set goals, and develop treatment plans.
• Progress patients through treatment levels while documenting all interactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain communication with physicians, occupational therapists, psychologists, and other team members.
• Supervise and instruct physical therapy assistants, support staff, and students.
• Participate in quality‑and‑safety improvement activities and departmental initiatives.
• Develop and update clinical protocols based on current research.
• Represent the department at conferences, seminars, and community outreach events.

Required profile

• Master’s (or Doctoral) degree in Physical Therapy.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant clinical experience (10 years preferred).
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license.
• Certification as a Clinical Instructor with at least 960 hours of student instruction.
• Experience in acute‑care rotations, including critical‑care units.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior staff.
