PHP/Go Software Engineer

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is looking for a senior software engineer to design, build, and scale robust web applications that support large‑scale data analysis and financial services. You will work across the full development lifecycle, from architecture to deployment, with a strong focus on performance, security, and maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop web applications using PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, Docker, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Handle datasets containing millions of rows and create meaningful visualizations.
• Build responsive front‑ends with HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, React.js, ensuring 508 accessibility compliance.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and micro‑services in PHP and Go.
• Maintain secure, modular code following OWASP best practices.
• Manage version control with Git and set up CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
• Deploy and operate applications in AWS and Docker container environments.
• Optimize PostgreSQL and other data stores for high‑performance queries.
• Collaborate with agile teams, data scientists, and stakeholders to operationalize AI and analytics solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience with PHP, Go, Laravel, Linux, and JavaScript.
• U.S. citizenship (as required by the employer).
• Proven ability to work on large‑scale data processing and 508‑compliant front‑ends.
• Experience with AI‑assisted coding tools is a plus.
