About the role

The Phlebotomist Technician works as an integral member of the Medical Laboratory Team at Cleveland Clinic’s Twinsburg Family Health and Surgery Center. This PRN (as‑needed) position supports patients by performing blood draws and specimen collection while providing a calm and reassuring experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform blood collection procedures, follow venipuncture protocols, and maintain accurate log sheets.
  • Verify order requests and patient identification before drawing blood or collecting specimens.
  • Label all specimens and deliver them to the appropriate processing area.
  • Process specimens, including accessioning, centrifugation, and packaging.
  • Pick up and deliver blood, other sample types, and laboratory supplies.

Required profile

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Technical proficiency with standard phlebotomy procedures and common laboratory practices.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, walk frequently, and use personal protective equipment.

Required skills

  • Venipuncture.
  • Specimen labeling and handling.
  • Accessioning and centrifugation.
