Phlebotomist Specimen Processor – Full‑Time Day Shift

About the role

This full‑time day position supports the laboratory’s patient‑care mission by performing phlebotomy and specimen‑processing functions. You will work on Jeff Hwy within Ochsner’s New Orleans region, collaborating with a compassionate, inclusive team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and other phlebotomy procedures on patients.
• Receive, accession, process, and distribute laboratory specimens.
• Enter and retrieve patient data using Windows‑based applications.
• Resolve specimen‑related problems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to infection‑control and hazardous‑material protocols.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a phlebotomy course is preferred.
• Current state phlebotomy license or trainee license.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods, lift moderate weights, and travel between facilities.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule in a clinical setting.
