About the role
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pathology is seeking a full‑time Phlebotomist 3 to join its laboratory team. In this role you will draw blood, verify patient records, and prepare specimens for analysis while ensuring a high level of patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Perform patient phlebotomy following the approved procedure manual.
- Prioritize hematology and oncology specimens and manage pre‑accession tasks.
- Verify patient identification and resolve test requisition issues.
- Maintain inventory, log systems, and generate statistical reports.
- Process specimen cancellations, credits, and additions.
- Prepare, pack, and ship samples, handling biohazard containers safely.
- Assist with hardware maintenance and act as lead/back‑up when the supervisor is unavailable.
Required profile
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three years of relevant phlebotomy experience.
- Current Phlebotomist certification.
- HIVBLS certification.
