Pharmacy Technician – Onsite in Iwakuni, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support a U.S. Government medical facility in Iwakuni, Japan. This full‑time, on‑site position involves managing referral processes and ensuring compliance with military health policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and evaluate specialty care referrals for clinical appropriateness, benefit coverage, and completeness.
• Enter and retrieve patient information using Electronic Health Record (EHR), DEERS, and other referral management systems.
• Escalate complex referrals to physicians, medical managers, or utilization nurses within defined timelines.
• Communicate pre‑authorization decisions between physicians and requesting providers.
• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual utilization reports, highlighting trends, resource use, and customer satisfaction.
• Present findings and recommendations to medical staff and leadership.
• Conduct prospective, concurrent, and retrospective reviews to evaluate clinical performance.

Required profile

• Ability to follow MTF, DHA, BUMED, and TRICARE guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail in processing and documenting referrals.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with physicians and providers.
• Experience preparing and presenting utilization reports.
