Pharmacy Technician – Full-Time

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician supports the UHealth pharmacy team at the University of Miami by preparing medications, assisting pharmacists, and ensuring accurate dispensing of prescriptions. This full-time position works on-site in a fast‑paced health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information while maintaining records.
• Assist pharmacists in filling orders, preparing labels for unit doses and pre‑packaged pharmaceuticals.
• Receive and stock incoming medical supplies and drugs.
• Refer provider calls and medication questions to the pharmacist.
• Participate in orientation and training to achieve competency in pharmacy technician duties.
• Stay current with pharmacy law, regulations, informatics, dispensing systems, and calculations.
• Follow university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or certification.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• No prior experience required; willingness to learn.
• Basic knowledge of pharmacy regulations and calculations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and pharmacy computer applications.
