Pharmacy Technician 4 – Full Time (Sylvester, FL)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Pharmacy Technician 4 to prepare medications for patients under pharmacist supervision. This full‑time position involves advanced compounding, specialty prescription processing, and serving as a lead for other technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information while maintaining records.
• Fill orders, prepare labels for unit doses and pre‑packaged pharmaceuticals.
• Coordinate personnel and material use, ensuring effective daily operations.
• Collaborate with department leadership on technician management and act as liaison between pharmacy services and internal customers.
• Perform hazardous, specialized, or advanced compounding (e.g., chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, TPN).
• Develop and deliver continuing‑education topics for technicians.
• Participate in task forces, committees, and decision‑making related to pharmaceutical acquisition.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant experience, certification, or license.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
