Pharmacy Technician 3 – Full-Time

About the role

The University of Miami Health System (UHealth) in Hollywood, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 3 for a full‑time, onsite position. The role involves advanced medication preparation, inventory management, and support for pharmacy operations within a university‑based health system.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information while maintaining accurate records.
• Fill orders, prepare unit‑dose and pre‑packaged labels, and ensure proper dispensing.
• Implement inventory control procedures, order supplies, and anticipate medication dispensing needs.
• Perform hazardous and specialized compounding, including chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, and TPNs.
• Serve as Pharmacy Technician Coordinator and cross‑train in major department roles as needed.
• Participate in temporary task forces or short‑term committees.
• Resolve prescription inquiries and provide preceptorship for students and new technicians.
• Mentor peers, stay current with advanced pharmacy practices, and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures, work collaboratively, and communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Compounding (chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, TPN).
• Inventory control and supply ordering.
• Pharmacy dispensing systems.
• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
