Pharmacy Technician 2 – Full-Time (Kendall, FL)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Pharmacy Technician 2 to join its Kendall campus pharmacy team. This full‑time position supports pharmacists in medication dispensing, compounding, and inventory management while providing mentorship to junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information; maintain patient records.
• Assist pharmacists with order filling, label preparation for unit doses and pre‑packaged pharmaceuticals.
• Receive, stock, and organize incoming medical supplies and drugs.
• Perform basic compounding tasks and support didactic training.
• Participate in training programs, continuing education, and cross‑training opportunities.
• Mentor less‑experienced technicians and support onboarding of new staff and students.
• Stay current with pharmacy dispensing systems, controlled substance distribution, and other technician duties.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy technician experience.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
