About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 1 to join the UMH Pharmacy team at the UHealth Tower in Miami. This entry‑level, full‑time position supports pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications while ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information while maintaining accurate patient records.
• Assist pharmacists in filling orders, preparing unit‑dose and pre‑packaged labels, and verifying medication accuracy.
• Receive, stock, and organize incoming medical supplies and drugs.
• Refer provider calls and medication questions to the pharmacist.
• Participate in orientation and training programs to achieve competency in pharmacy technician duties.
• Stay current on pharmacy law, regulations, informatics, dispensing systems, and pharmacy calculations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State of Florida pharmacy technician registration.
• No prior experience required; new graduates or entry‑level candidates are welcome.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of pharmacy law and regulations.
• Familiarity with pharmacy informatics and medication dispensing systems.
• Accurate medication calculation abilities.
