Pharmacy Refill Specialist – Full-Time

About the role

Harbor Health is looking for a Pharmacy Refill Specialist to join its Austin clinic team. In this non-traditional pharmacy technician role you will work closely with the pharmacy and clinical staff to monitor medication adherence, support members and their caregivers, and help demonstrate meaningful health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Interview members or family members to document newly prescribed medications, adherence, side effects and barriers.
• Triage medication information and relay it to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Partner with the Pharmacy Director and IT team to design and refine workflows for data gathering, both manually and via technology.
• Collect data and develop metrics that demonstrate medication initiation and adherence outcomes.
• Continuously improve clinic efficiency through workflow optimization and participation in special projects.

Required profile

• Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
• At least 5 years of retail or hospital experience as a Certified Pharmacy Technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills with members and caregivers, and ability to work independently with sound judgment.
• Flexibility to shift priorities while maintaining confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfort navigating electronic medical record (EMR) platforms.
