Pharmacy Practice Resident (Full‑Time)

About the role

The Pharmacy Practice Resident will develop advanced skills in patient care, drug information, and pharmacy administration while working closely with healthcare providers at the University of Miami Health System.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in training and educational activities of the residency program.
• Provide optimal patient medication therapy outcomes through clinical pharmacy services, education, and special projects.
• Interpret and process physician orders, monitor drug interactions, allergies, and incompatibilities.
• Dispense medications and perform final checks for patient use.
• Review physician orders for accuracy and appropriateness of therapy.
• Maintain involvement in local, state, and national pharmacy professional organizations.
• Stay current with pharmacy, medical, and scientific literature.
• Support the organization’s formulary process and provide pharmacokinetic assistance.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree (no prior experience required).
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate completion of assignments.
